Rockbass
Saw an add for these motors in kijiji, has anyone had any experience with them?
smerchly
I checked them out on Google......looks like they will sell many in North America . They are a Chinese company , designed & made in China , unlike the america transplants who use their N.A. nameplate established here . This motor has a button to raise & lower the depth & is also ......designed to be used for kayaks & canoes ....worth looking at . http://haswingusa.com/latest-news/
Rockbass
Thanks for your comments, I was seriously tempted, but hate to be the "test dummy". Found a decent used Minn Kota power drive, if I don't like it after this season, will take another look at the HASWING
smerchly
I think Minn Kota has a good reputation . I just ordered a new prop from Peter's for my very old Kota , bow mount ...28 lb thrust . It must be over 30 yrs.old lol Minn Kota has existed for over 80 years .....got the name from North Dakota ....this is interesting ...... http://www.minnkotamotors.com/company/history.aspx

Rockbass
Nice to know Minn Kota has a good rep. My only previous experience was an older Motor Guide , and wasn't very impressed when I called with issues. The motor I bought is 36 lb power drive, I'm guessing 10-12 years old. Should be ok for my 13 smoker craft Alaskan?
