Gas is 1.16 in Welland .....1.19 here in St.Kitts .......$2.50 per gal . in Texas . With oil at $85 a barrel we should be paying 1 % approx. ( 85 cents) . I would be happy to see a buck a liter ....but I'm dol.... dreaming out loud , eh ?

So ....when to filler up ? Will it go any lower or will it be $1.30 tomorrow ? Only the shadow knows.......

Problem is that the price of oil is one of the smallest components of the price. If government taxes are a fixed value, e.g. 10 cents a liter or the price of oil is 25 percent of the gas price then lower oil prices only affect that portion of the gasoline price. Getting it out of the ground, transportation, processing into gasoline, transporting to market.....these all stay the same...rats. Add in the fact that the newest refinery in Canada is about 30 years old do they can keep their supply tight....they can keep prices up. Factor in that the government still gets their taxes no matter what the price of gas and higher prices make people drive less...this keeps the enviros happy...less pollution.....keeps the pressure on to increase vehicle has mileage...everyone is happy except us.

The reality is now setting in that crude has no floor, and as any other commodity, when the supply is high and the demand is low, prices have nowhere to go but down. Heard it was expected to drop another 6 bucks a barrel over the next 30 days, so about another 3 cents down to come. The only bad thing is that its affecting the dollar

If it affects the dollar for too long , the carbon tax of about 10 cents per liter might just be the ticket to "save our skins" ? ! Hydro rates are going up again , that will give the gov't a little boost in tax revenue .......Think I'll fill up the old truck tomorrow.......

3.35 and3.75 for petrol and diesel in the buffalo area today. Us/gallon. Even so 3.785 L /us gallon and say. 12cents on the dollar. Regular is 99 cents all in. The diesel is about 1.12 only makes cents if you are going over the river for other items also....... like ice gear or for me snowboarding!

Canada having a weaker dollar means good revenue for Canada. When the dollars high we export less goods when the dollars low we make way more due to the increase in export volume.

Keep in mind that usually the low dollar goes hand in hand with low oil prices. Which means the gov't makes less in oil taxes. If you think that the export volume increase can even compare I think you are kidding yourself. The only companies making it rich on the situation that you mentioned are the one(s) that make items here is Canada that are from Canadian resources and then sell it in US dollars. We just saw a profit increase of almost 20%.

If I can save an extra $100 a month on gas , it will be spent on other things . That is good for retailers and the government that takes 13% on my purchases and it helps keep people working ......works both ways sometimes.

We may be paying another 10 cents by tomorrow if the gas price prediction is right on this site . The red arrow indicates prices are on the rise ....I use this local site and buy my gas at places that SERVE ME .

So far 1.11 in Welland....diesel has dropped a bit ~1.19 but now our dollar has taken a hit. You have to shoot the calcs before you buy in the states now. Not bad for the border town people but why go to the US when we have so many shopping outlets in the Niagara Region who have good or better prices then our southern friends.

Glad to see the prices are staying low.

I'm surprised to see it last this long ......gas in Deseronto ,where our trailer is at Mohawk Bay , is $1.01 ....may see it at 99 cents soon . I hope our glorious government doesn't take this opportunity to slap us with their carbon taxes and add another 10 cents or more.....So far , so good !

I heard the CARBON taxes may be on the way ........as I said here earlier . The gas in Deseronto at Olco is now 99.9 cents , same as a couple of reserves there .

Oh , and lets not confuse this carbon tax with the Eco taxes ....maybe they will "harmonize" them .....

St.Catharines - from $1.07.6 to $1.14.9 ......why the big diff.? Last night oil dropped about 4 bucks per barrel , we should be less than $1.07 .

Supposedly, it is going down Saturday. Maybe they are putting the price up so that they can say it actually went down tomorrow? I know our dollar has a big impact, and we are pretty low right now.

New secret tax implemented to cover the decrease in prices? Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland/Laborador are hurting for tax money. Another fail in our system due too a one horse show (OIL REVENUES).

Heard estimates of 1.00 in the new year. Alberta is anywhere between 93 and 1.68 (gas station in middle of nowhere and they know it).

Hey Snags ....can you bring back a 5 gal. gas can or two back to St.Kitt's ....I 'll give you 99 cents /liter .....that's 6 cents /liter profit for you ....not bad for a gas jockey ! :santa:

....Oil price dropped again today .....$1.06.1 in St.Kitts expect to see $1.04 tomorrow .....Saving about 30 cents per liter on my usual 100 liter fill up (2 trucks) , keeps me thinking I need more tackle ...... :D

Gas is still 13cents a litre cheaper in Buffalo. ~3.06/gallon. Diesel WTH. But it's still 9 cents a litre cheaper at the right stations in the states. Trucking companies and the fools like me that bought a diesel this fall are getting reamed. On the other hand diesel is 30% more efficient.
