bigugli
I had a cat that used to hunt groundhog. He'd tree them , then go up into the tree to get the groundhog and kill it.

smerchly
I would say that is a tree hog ..... When I started hunting at 16 (20 gauge single shot Cooey ) , we were told to shoot any cats we saw in the bush . I didn't know they could kill a groundhog , but they could kill grouse , pheasants and other small animals and their young . I think most hunters today are aware of this and still shoot the cats . I remember when i was around the same age out tracking around in the snow hunting rabbit never seen a rabbit all day then on my way home i can hear a rabbit screaming so i walked that way and seen a cat with a rabbit well you can put the rest of the story together never liked cats after that there was a few stray cats around the area i think they helped bringing the rabbit pop down along with hawks /coyote /
