If you know any animal rights people who don't understand why the birds of prey are tethered to their water bowls at zooz, send them for some education tonight. I know I used to think they were better off dead but now I know better. Hey everyone is welcome and it should be a great evening.

If you say shut up and fish then shut the hell up when they tell you that you can't fish anymore!

most of the animals like that at Zooz are rehabilitated and cannot live in the wild any more, they are also parts of breeding programs and such as well.....hope the meeting was good last night, just too hectic for me to make it out..wrapping up the work project and getting a foot in the door for another one, and the kids going back to school and stuff, but after tommorrow, things will be a little more back to normal for me, and I can participate in alot more things for the club
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine, and my tunes where played on the harp unstrung, would you hear my voice come through the music, would you hold it near as it where your own?

Nobody showed up Jack ;)
But the little girl in your neighborhood came and received her award.
I made a new friend your daughters age. We'll all have to get together for a little nature walk.

you mean no-one from the club showed up?

well sorry to hear that, I feel bad now, yesterday was just bad timing because of the work thing you know I have had on the go, and kids going to school, but like I said things are a little more sane for me now, go figure that no-one showed up, not like they have school aged kids and things like that, and you would figure there would be some good interest in a birds of prey presentation.

Like I said, now that my work load is lightened up, I will be able to be more active in a few things for sure, and taking the kids on a nature walk sounds like a good idea to me as well

Well as it turns out the guest speaker did show up.... early! Half an hour waiting in the parking lot and I passed him on the road out front  . He's begging for another chance because he knows that the message needs to get out. He brought a baby snowy owl which he planned to pass around the audience.

I've already got the rest of the year booked. The October speaker is the best by far as far as anglers are concerned. Check out the guest list here: http://home.cogeco.ca/~fecc/

I think raptor rehab and enhancement are a great ed. opportunity. We have 2 small groups here in Lincoln involved in such programs.
