Our next general meeting is this Monday. All are welcome. Come see what we are all about. We now have more of the 12 Mile Watershed fishing diaries available. See the secretary.
Hope to see you there.

Conservation authorities were originally estab'd to develop and maintain policy and programs for various watersheds across the province. Fisheries diaries help the NPCA to understand current usage, trends, sustainability and health of the fishery in the watershed. There is already a management plan in place for the Welland R.. Our input helps gauge the continued health of the fishery.
12 Mile, on the other hand, does not have a clearly established management plan. Information gathered from anglers will contribute to the process. If we, as anglers, want our concerns and interest recognized, we have to participate and provide input. It does not say much if only 6 or seven diaries are turned in. The area of interest runs from Martindale Pond up into L. Gibson, Effingham, Shorthills and St. John's. Anybody who fishes these areas, if only a couple of times a year, I strongly urge you take the time to fill out a diary.
I have copies available to distribute. Heck, the region will send the SASE to your home to retrieve them. The cost to you, nothing. They will even have a draw prize from amongst the participants.
It is only March 1st and I have 1/2 filled a book with ice fishing. Let me know how I can get one to you.
