You can catch all the usualls there. Pike, Carp, Catfish, Bass, Musky, and different pan fish.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

thats because you spent to much time complaining and wanting to leave as soon as we got there cause a pike didnt take your lure right away
REMEMBER TO FISH THE MARGARINE! thats where I am getting the fish

This is very surprising based upon the "root beer river" pics you post on here..
Gibson is a really good lake full of bass, pike, carp and the ocassional muskie.
If you'd rather catch 1 lb carp and skinny catfish all day at the root beer river than explore around gibson and have a chance at catching a lunker, well I guess that's every man's choice.
In conclusion, gibson is worth the drive. There's lots of different shorelines and lots of places to catch a lunker. Googlemap it out.. A bad day's panfishing is always better than a good day's work.

gibson is great for alot of species like the other members are saying. been there 4 times since pike opener... got 1 pike, and 6 largemouth... they keep hitting what i normally use for pike, until i switched it up to spinners n bucktails then everything stopped biting. but the pike are in there, i didnt have a tape measure with me, but the pike was look a few inches over 2 feet at least. good sized fish
