Congrats Cliff, I didn't get into any myself on the weekend but this is just the start of softwater for me.  So hopefully we can all get into some fish.

How do you guys fish queenston from shore when there is such a strong current? Whatever you cast out gets taken by the current very close to shore. I went and tried cleo's with no luck.

Hey fish4life,

Normally you would use a three way swivel.  Top tied to main line, one to a weight with 3-6 inches of line and the third to leader, usually mono or fluoro anywhere from 4-8 feet.  Tie your spoon, streamer, hook, etc to the leader and away you go.  Weights are whatever you can get the line to bottom but not dragging along, you want a bounce every couple of feet.  I start with 1/2 slinkies depending on the speed of the current that day.  You could also use pencil weights (not a fan myself) or lead bar weights.

Hope that helps.
