The water viz. was good , the sun came out but it was hard to place the lures or roe bags between the ice that cluttered up the water . This cold snap seemed to give the trout lockjaw today and no trout were weighed in . Here are a few of the guys on the west wall ,throwing the book at those elusive trout .........

One guy who was fishing caught a nice bow . I weighed it for him and informed him about the derby rules and he went to the club to sign up in case he got lucky again . But no fish over the 5 lb. mark were weighed in . Here is the fish that could have won , but ,"ya gotta pay before ya play"

I took this close up to get a good shot of the scale numbers & took full pictures for him with his camera . And , since the fishes eye freeze very fast, this fish was a keeper. All in all , it was a cold but bright brisky Canadian day and as always , great to get the lines all iced up & enjoy the fun . Oh YES ......da smerch won the draw !!
