These are not being run by me. Cause I want to fish. :Gonefishing:

May 14 & 15 Grand River Dunneville
June 12 Charles Daly Park
Sept. 17 Peir 8 Hamilton

This fee schedual would apply to the first tournament in Dunnville.

1. Entrance into the prize pools for Big Fish, Total Weight and Biggest Fish.

2. Your camping fees to the land owner

3. 50/50 Draw with Proceeds going to Mac Kid's Childrens' Hospital Hamilton (they saved my son's life)

The breakdown for the fee would be as follows;

Total $55.00 Canadian

$ 35 towards cash pool

$ 10 towards camping fees

$ 10 towards the Mac Kid's 50/50

I am looking to get at least 50 fisherman for this tournament. this in turn would project these numbers for prizes etc.

First Fish - $ 250 cash and a $50 Carp Zoom Gift Certificate

Biggest Fish - $ 500 cash and a $50 Carp Zoom Gift Certificate

Total Weight - $ 1000 cash and a $100 Carp Zoom Gift Certificate

I am also hoping to put together a bunch of other prizes from sponsors ( hint, hint, hint ). I am quite confident in saying that there will be something for everyone.

Please keep in mind that these are projections. If we can get 50 fisherman to participate, then this is exactly how the Cash Pool part will be laid out.

So come on guys and girls. Whether you are American or Canadian, get in on it and participate.

You can reply on this post or you can pm me with any questions you have.

You can email Mark to sign up or if you have any questions. mauld@cogeco.ca

Just to finalize some specifics for the May 15th, 2010 First Annual Carp Zoom Spring Carp Tournament

Date: Saturday, May 15, 2010

Time: Peg Draw 6:30 a.m. (parking area at Grand Island BBQ) fishing to commence at 7:30 a.m. Fishing until 4:30 p.m.

Place: Grand Island Barbeque, Dunnville, Ontario Canada (2009 CanAm Venue)

Entry Fee: $25.00 to include entrance into Cash Prize categories of Big Fish, Total Weight. $5 of every entry will be donated to Mac Kids at MacMaster Hospital Children's Centre...

Carp Zoom will also donate a special prize for largest Channel Cat as we know there are thousands of them in the water at this venue...(That one is for you Nick)

The cash prizes will be split 50/50 between the Big Fish and Total Weight categories.

At the end of the day, Carp Zoom will be providing a free BBQ to all entrants as a Thank you for participating in this event and for making a donation to an extremely worthy cause (Mac Kids)

There will also be prizes and giveaways for other entrants, that will be drawn via your peg number...

Here is a link to the Grand Island BBQ website,

http://www.villageon.../boathouse.html

Here is a link to the map of how to get there,

http://www.restauran...q/23006889/map/

Everyone is welcome....

So come on out. have a great day of fishing, meet some new people, share some stories, help support tourism in Dunnville, The Grand Island BBQ and also help a very worthy cause in Mac Kids....

We have been given special permission by management that will allow us to aid anyone needing assistance in getting their gear to their respective peg site. If you need to take advantage of this, please send me a message stating so, as we will then adjust your arrival time in order to be on peg when fishing commences at 7:30 a.m.

On a side note I spent the day yesterday in Dunnville at this venue, with some decent results. I landed two carp in the mid twenties, both on Honey Flavoured Pop-Ups. I also landed six channel cats ranging from 4 - 14 lbs. Quite obviously this is channel cat time of year but the carp are in there quite heavy as well....There were fish jumping and surfacing for the entire day, and I know channel cats don't jump...By the 15th of May this venue will be in the midst of its' prime, in regards to Carp Fishing...

If you plan on attending please message below, Pm me or email me so that we can make sure we purchase and prepare enough food etc. to go around for everyone.

Any questions regarding this can be directed to me via email to mauld@cogeco.ca

Again, everyone is welcome....

Looking forward to seeing you all there....

Best Regards,

Mark Auld

At these events and similar carp tourneys, how are the fish weighed? Are there helpers/representatives around who can weigh the fish quickly so as to not harm the fish?

I have left a message for Mark. He will decide.
But in general you have a couple of guys that are responsible for weighing the fish. So the fish are caught and taken immediately to be weighed , then returned to the water.

Mark's answer.
"I am hoping to have two weigh in stations with calibrated scales...One at each end of the island."
