Damn those are some sweet cats!!!! I've seen guys fishing just below the dam in Dunnville, whats the best methods for hooking one of these brutes. I was thinking or using a 3 way swivel, flouro lead with a circle hook and a heavy weight on the other end. Am I close? My old man used to use chicken livers, is there a better choice?

Thanks

Briguy the leader board will be posted April 17th like it or lump it ....you dont need to go on every site stiring the pot ...if your fish is not 17lbs plus let it go ... and for the past 6 years i have not weighed any dead fish they all came in the following day in big tubs liven healthy...

Rick last year a big fish was weighed in the 1st day and ticket sales went down wasnt till allmost the end of the derby the fish was beat out ...this year i didn't want to slow ticket sales by people looking a the leader board and saying i can't beat that ...over 100 tickets sold now with a 100% pay back i would like to see 1st prize this year in the $2000 cash area ...so bring your fish in anything over 17lbs now and see on the 17th if your make the leader board ...this is a fun derby for all and lets keep it that way ...

Whoop there it is ............................. straight up honesty and to the point Steve. :Gonefishing:

Hey is there a feedback section where people can make suggestions on how to make the derby better or give their opinion on that for NEXT YEAR?

Just look at last years fish. The leaderboard is irrelevant based on what you know has come out of the waters before this contest ever started. Heck I might even accidentally hook into a trophy :)

So based on last year alone if your concerned for the hearty channel cats stress levels, don't weigh one in unless it's pushing at least 20!
If you say shut up and fish then shut the hell up when they tell you that you can't fish anymore!
