Davis creek is part of the Redhill Creek watershed and up until a week or so ago was the heart of a pleasant green space more or less parallel to King Street. Last week I notice some signage going up and within the past few days I've seen that the valley through which the creek flows is being deforested at least from the Redhill Valley Expressway off-ramp to Quigley Road. The signs say something about "Davis Creek Flood Control."
Does anyone know anything about this or is the city trying to sneak a fast one past us?
Davis Creek. . .

I took a few photos. My camera was acting up so they're not the best, but here they are:

Contact your local Authority to get answers. It may actually be a beneficial or proactive step for the stream. In Fort Erie we are part of a huge study to see how the cleaning of a municipal drain (parts of a creek) will effect the fish. We have the Town, the DFO, SARA, The Friends and the Authority all involved. Perhaps they are looking for volunteers for fish monitoring. You'll never know if you don't make contact
If you say shut up and fish then shut the hell up when they tell you that you can't fish anymore!
