I was trying to convince my local rag and Al Oleksuik to do an article on Lyme disease because there are so many people who don't know about it and many are living with it unknowingly and being treated for MS instead. I was asked to write it myself by the Fort Erie paper as a letter so I did but didn't make the deadline. The reason I wanted it in this edition is because many hunters are preparing to go afield on Monday to hunt for wild turkey. This coincides with tick season's kick off every year and where I hunt near Pettit and Bowen the ticks are bad.

If you say shut up and fish then shut the hell up when they tell you that you can't fish anymore!

We need to be very wary of tics !! Lyme's disease is a nasty thing to get and can be fatal . That poor lady has gone through hell ! My neighbours on both sides of me walk their dogs locally , down the hydro line and Short Hills ,and have come back with tics on the dogs . Two days ago one of the boxers had a large "thing" on its side which was a blood filled tic. Check yourself out and learn what to look for on your skin and don't wait to seek help !

That rules.....going out tm morning to pattern the 12ga before work, I'd rather go with 2 3/4 in 12 than the same in a 20

I thought I was well covered-up yesterday (scouting, not hunting), but after a couple hours in the woods I had 2 ticks on me. I HATE those things!

Do a thorough tick check when you get home. Wash your clothes immediatley or leave them in the garage. Those things get around. Like the time I came home from hunting and my wife later found a tick in bed. She was NOT happy!
