Hey guys here r a couple of pics that i took of an insect nest that was found behind some window capping in black creek ,ontario. I also found some behind the siding on the tar paper during demo. they have some tiny holes in it and its like they use a leaf and tightly pack it around. What insect makes this nest?
I believe it is a small wasp. If you tear them apart there are tiny grubs between each piece of leaf along with the wasp larvae. If it weren't for that you could just pop them off the wall and smoke them without rolling papers
Either black widow or brown recluse spider .........at least 100 per cell .....you never know........ I found a large cocoon attached to the lower lattice on the back deck which turned out to be a cicada .Many moths & butterflies will emerge from cocoons soon as well as wasps . Those one in the picture are a little different than most I have seen . ......hope some bug guru may know more.
Those are made by bees. (the solitarty kind; not the kind that nest in colonies) I was told they are called leaf cutter bees but I looked up the real name and they are called 'Megachile'.
