OK guys it's swill time again. For those of you who don't know what a swill is it's just a get together at a bar/restaurant where we meet, greet, eat and drink a few pops. We also encourage everyone to bring one prize (fishing and now hunting related) so we can fund-raise for a cause.

This swills cause will be for a Lyme test for our very own moderator Dr Feelgood because the Doc has been feeling bad for so long.
Posted Image
Judging by his symptoms I and others in the know believe that Doc may have Lyme disease. Problem is the real docs have insufficient tests and generally refuse the more expensive tests which run at least $500. There is a small chance that the doc may find a specialist who will order the test thus making it free. If this happens the money raised will go towards a media campaign aimed at Lyme awareness through Melisa Young a Lyme awareness advocate in Fort Erie

Lyme Disease Association of Ontario

I have not secured a location yet but I'm working on it. In the past we have met at the Lazy Lizard in the Henley Plaza right at the Ontario St off-ramp in St Catharines. We had a meal deal for a set amount of money (all you can eat) pizza and wings so we'll likely charge a cover for our seating area. We've used the pool table in the past to organize prize packages and sold tickets drawing stubs out of a hat.

If you would like to join our swill post a reply. Preferably a solid commitment so we can let the restaurant owner know approx how many they'll be cooking for. We've got three weeks to clear that day but if you can't make it and would like to donate or buy tickets or even donate a raffle prize we can arrange a drop off location. Past prizes included packs of power bait, fishing line, spinning combo's and even 2 stroke oil etc. Donating is not mandatory and we're thrilled with anything we get. I know we are not all working so don't worry about coming empty handed, we'll just be happy to see you. Also if you can't put in for the meal deal just come for a pop or coffee.

I will post as soon as I secure a location so stay tuned. If we would like to show support for Doc perhaps we could all change our profile pictures to something green, preferable Lyme green B)

If I can get there I'll be there. I'd love a chance to get to meet some of you! Even if I can't be there I'll see what I can do about coming up with a donation. Perhaps a box of hand-tied flies or the like.

Thanks Coachman. We've had hand tied flies in the past and they were a big hit. I'd buy tickets for that for sure.

I got a pack of .22 hollowpoint pellets and a full body harness. For now B)

I'll be back home fishing that week Dan but I'll donate a few of the baits I made and a few $$ to go along with it :P

I'll be seeing Bondar before then so I'll leave everything with him.

It's confirmed! Lazy Lizard, Ontario St at the QEW 7pm start, food at 7:30. $20 a head gets you in the door and all you can eat pizza and wings. Usually it is only $10 plus $2 for gratuities but the rest will cover expenses for the test or go to the Lyme awareness campaign. I think a $queen per head is pretty decent and they've had great wings and za in the past B) Does this sound fair? :P

I'll need as accurate of a head count as possible for Anthony who is so gracious enough to offer such a great deal still after all these years.

Who wants to keep this thread updated for confirmations? :P
