A reminder to all members that the monthly SCG&F General Meeting will be on May 17th due to the stat holiday on the following week.
The scheduled speaker is Lorne Morley, Provincial Chairman of the Carp Anglers Group.

There's a lot more to carp fishing than most think . .....lots of different baits to use at different times of the season & the style of fishing for them is very interesting . Come on out to the club Monday at 7:30 pm & learn a lot about carping . Lorne , aka Hammercarp , knows his stuff about angling for carp & will show us the different set ups & gear they use to catch these tough monsters . I hope to see some of you guys & gals at the club .

Well the last speaker we had from this board hooked himself in the crotch and needed the executives help to get it out. If you can give us a repeat of that we'll be sure to post pictures here afterward and everyone will be sorry they missed it

Well , no hooks in crotches , but Dagmar got a little close to that 12' pole & hair rig ....good thing she is only 4'11" standing or sitting !

Thanks for the great presentation Lorne ! As expected , it was very interesting and informative as many questions were fired at you ....and we only touched on the many aspects of carp fishing . I hope to see you holding a 40+ pounder some day soon . I was hoping to see more young people at this seminar since many are fishing for carp now . And , the cake & refreshments were awesome , thanks to all who celebrated the SCGFA 's 80th year tonight

I agree the cake and convesation afterward were great. You have a good bunch of people there. We are going to work on a fish-in together.
