Anybody know what time they open the gate at the marina and how much it is to launch there? Is there any other launches along the lake that are open between 5am and 6am? I went out of Queenston last time and want to cut out travel time and make it fishin' time

if you go to the West side of Lock 1 and go past Niagara Street, you'll hit a set of lights. this is Arthur street. turn right onto Arthur Street and go all the way to the end. you'll go past the Tropicana variety store and come to a stop sign. follow the road to the right and you come to another stop sign. turn left and you'll come to the entrance to the beach. go all the way to the end and there's a free public boat launch right there. saves yourself 10 bucks if you were to put in at the marina. and it's just on the other side of the canal. hope that helps.

The municipal beach launch is free and is in a good location, however depending on what type of boat you have you may find it hard launching there. I live just down the street and had problems there a few times due to low water, and I only have a 16 ft aluminum. Great for seadoos but not much else, too bad our city won't maintain a public ramp. I bought a season pass at the marina, $90
