First time out trolling on Lake O the other day produced zero fish but one hookup. Looking to go out again tomorrow morning to try again and was wondering if someone can share a few pointers. I was told to fish anywhere from 100 to 200 feet of water and troll at 2.5 to 3. Is that 2.5 to 3 MPH or KPH? Is there anything I should be looking for on the graph other than the usual bait and fish? Either way I'll be out there pluggin away at it but a few pointers to guide me in the right direction would be helpful. Thanx

I see you're not getting many responses. Yes, the speed is in MPH. I find 2.5 to be the very bottom end if you're running spoons, I like to go a bit quicker. As for what to look for on your graph, it depends on your graph. You'll want to look for the thermocline, some mark it, some don't. It's going to be somewhere between 40 and 60 down most likely.

Fish over it, in it, and under it.....and troll the correct speed. Check www.spoonpullers.com for up to date reports.

hey minnowmike. I'm kind of new on this salmon fishing I've been out twice last week and landed aprox 14 fish most of them rainbows.I would start at 90 ft and work out to 150ft. I did well on riggers 20ft behind ball 40ft down and other rigger 60ft down . if useing dippsys 120ft-200ft out .

good luck Weedliner.
When the salmon derby starts don't allways listen what they say on spoonpullers.

weedliner is correct with the depth, vary your leaders, switch up lures or just colors every 15-30 min,i even went to 230(on 50# pp) on the dipsey and lost a monster rainbow(due to my stupidity of not putting a "snubber" on) i found spoons did very well the last weekend. good luck on your next outting
