So it has been noted already. Well it can't hurt to bring it up again. Stuff looks deadly.

I saw some jimson weed the other day too. Every year there's at least a few reports of kids using it for cheap highs and winding up in trouble. Maybe we need a sticky post listing names and identifications of plants that we should be careful around.

I have been using a Peterson's field guide to search for edible food and it lists many of the poisonous plants that can be mistaken for edible ones. It should be in every outdoorspersons collection.

And another one hit the news. I don't know if there's much around Ontario, but I'd say watch for it.

There's plenty of it around and it's spreading like wild fire. As far as I know the hogweed isn't invasive (spreading uncontrollably). The media also called it giant cow parsnip but cow parsnip although similar; is a different species.
