Hey all
We took the family and some friends out for an all night fishing off the pier in port dover last week , we had a blast beautiful night of clear stary skys and lots of fun with the catches.

we got all set up around 8 pm using a 2 hook harness and a 1/2 oz sinker with worms.
our first catch within 5 minutes was a nice silver bass , then we had a few bullheads even a tiny baby cat.
along through the night my 11yr old son caught his first small mouth bass, his smile was awsome !! then my 7yr old daughter caught her first catsfish, as she happily tossed it on the pier and says here dad , can you take it off ?
around 2am the bites slowed down until we started getting some small rock bass, bluegills and more small mouth bass even some smelts and cats, my wife caught a nice bullhead and a nice sheephead that took the hook deep so she had to leave the hook. the kids started to bundle up and fall asleep in their chairs so they slept snuggled up with blankets and jackets as we kept hoping for another catch , around 3am i got a hit, dam ! if i left my drag way too lose and after i got it adjusted i was almost out of line. good thing i had 20lb test on ... it was a good 20 min to get my catch near the pier only to find a Mirror Carp ! im guessing 20 - 25lbs but he was fussy !!! nice fight .. after that we all got the itch to keep fishing .. then 30 minutes later my son got a big hit nearly bent his 6ft rod half over and him over the side of the pier. lol ! he got so excited but he lost the bite .happy as a pig in .. then he passed out too.
As the morning came with an awsome sunrise we packed up and all we went for a morning swim , then for the long drive home , we stopped for breakfast along the way, then home.
what a night of fun.
the next day the kids wanted to go again .....
