I've been giving some minor thoughts about possibly purchasing a boat/motor/trailer package from Port Colborne Marine. I have never dealt with them before and I was just wondering if anyone had any comment on this company or any dealings with them. I have an old aquaintance, whom I recently ran into, who works part time for them that contacted me about a couple of deals they have now (typical salesman).
This place is a fair bit out of my way to bother with if there are any issues I should be concerned about before commiting to anything. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

I nearly purchaced a boat from them three years ago. They were very proffesional and not at all pushy. The guy took me through everything I needed, and never tried to rip me off.
I ended up purchacing a used boat, but if I were to buy new I would go there in a heart beat.
Also from what I remeber they have pretty good prices on the smaller boats (didnt really look at any bigger packages).
Good luck on the boat.
Nick

Rob Culp is the Past Prez of the Dunville Anglers and Hunters and I'd recomend dealing with him over any others. Great guy.
If you say shut up and fish then shut the hell up when they tell you that you can't fish anymore!

I purchased a boat from Pt Colbourne Marine 4 years ago, am very well satisfied with it, received
the boat as promised, on time.
Have had to call them a couple of times for additional items, again fast service, but its your money
so buy wherever you can get the best deal for the boat of your choice.

Thanks for all the inputs. There are plenty of people out there trying to sell us boats and many "deals" to be had. This still requires spousal approval first.

I bought my current boat from them 3 years ago after searching S.Ont for the best deal. Great people to do business with and would do so again.

I bought a 2002 75 hp Merc. 4stroke 2yrs ago from them. Shortly after I had a problem with the T/T. I ended up bringing the motor back three times for the same problem and it still wasn't fixed properly.
I ended up calling Merc's head office and they sent me to Dundas marine in Waterdown. They fixed the problem right the first time and were very friendly.

Dealt with them last year was going to but a boat but when things did'nt all work out they suddenly became really unprofessional and a bunch of idiots. Just my 2 cents would never step into that store again.
P.S just picked up my new boat this week from boatland canada $2500.00 cheaper than every one else plus a bunch of free stuff and pretty good service. Will have to post pics when I get a moment.
Also had a new addition to the family on sunday. A baby boy soon to be my fishin buddy.
All in all a great week new boy, new boat what more can I ask 4.

I have dealt with Port Colborne Marine.

Before I got my first boat, I “attempted” to buy a boat from them but could not. Bought 2 boats elsewhere. The first 27 feet 10 inches in 1994. A year later bought another brand new boat at 32 ˝ feet long.

Finally in 1997, home-port became at Port Colborne at Sugarloaf Marina (in previous years it was in Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay – Honey Harbour) So I was also involved with them with maintenance and winterizing.

So, I know a bit about their prices, their attitude and their maintenance department.

So, if BillyTM or anyone else wants my opinion, just send me a PM and I shall reply. There is no reason for me to reveal my negative opinions online.

I also am looking to buy a 19 ft slvan boat from them. Went to the sportsman show,it seem too be a good price compared to others.Sales man treated me well, waited over an hour for me after closing so my wife could look at the boat, let you know how i do.

I purchased a 14' Aluminium boat, 9.9 hp and trailer from them in november, walk in, asked for what I wanted and went home with what I wanted. I've been back a couple of times since and so far the service is great and they are very helpful.

If the price is right for you I would recommend bying from the.
