Me and Tim took the boat out last weekend in search of some pike.
I got 3 he got 6. Lucky for me I got the 2 biggest ones. 22 inch and 23.5 inches.
Ok not monsters but it's a start and if I can get my 50 post in, I can enter them in the pike-off before the real fisherman start catching the big ones.
The rest were about 16" to 18".
Since I had not been Pike fishing in nice clear water in about 15years i keeped the 2 biggest one (perfect eating size), and a small one Tim caught that inhaled the lure and was floater.
We got sunburned real good out in the aluminium boat, staying away from the sun this week to go back next weekend to hopefully catch bigger ones.

Here are the pictures. hopefully they make it.

Nice Pike Richard, looks like they have a few war wounds from fighting or after spawning like mine did, are they Erie Pike ?

So have u been back to "The Pond" lately ? I managed 3 small snot rockets there last weekend.

Hi Dave,
Yes there Erie Pike.
I check the port colborn marina and they don't allow fishing from the docks, after the boats are in the water they chase people away.
I'm not sure if the people who were fishing there before had a key for the gates or they just hopped the fence.

Went to the pond last night and tim got 2 little 12" or so pike.
The water is getting real dirty there.

We fish in the Welland Canal on fridays now, the fishing is better there.
Caught a few 20 inchers and tim got a 28", lots of bass too.

The water in the Pond was really clear last weekend, it should change for the better soon.

That's a change from Friday's now, guess the Crappie and Perch have moved on their way.

Hey Richard: Nice fish buddy. This is the time for pike. Another couple of weeks before they head to the deeper water. Thanks for the report. Good fishing. Scottydog

Good job on the pike Richard.
With more being caught, the pike off should
get interesting.

Not a Muskie, Pike have light coloured spots on a greenish background, Muskie are the opposite and have dark vertical bands on a lighter background.

The bigger ones are going to be harder to come by shallow now unless you have a deep water spot near by and fish peak times.
