The St Catharines Game & Fish Association is a non-profit organization that is deeply involved in the community. One of our primary endeavoures is our "KIDS DAY" fishing derby each year. The "KIDS DAY" derby has succeeded due to our sponsors and volunteers. This year will be our 11th annual "KIDS DAY". Each year more and more kids sign up, last year more than 700 children participated, this year we are expecting close to 1000 children ages 2-16.
The children are divided into 4 catagories, 2-6, 7-11, 12-16 and Special Needs. The top 15 in each catagory recieve trophy's and prizes. Our goal is that every child recieve an award. In order to achieve this goal, more and more sponsors are required each year. The "KIDS DAY" is a family fun catch and release derby, it is a means of educating our children about the different species of fish and teaching a little bit about the enviroment. Hot dogs and pop are provided for lunch.
If there is anything that your organization can provide to make this event successful it would be greatly appreciated. If you need further information please do not hesitate to contact Dagmar Miller, "KIDS DAY" chairman Tel: 905 937 6335, email: st.catharinesgamefishasso@bellnet.ca "NEW ADDRESS"
Come out and join us. It all happens the first Saturday in May on the 7th 2005 Rain or Shine.

Well call them and let them know Tommy. As I hear today there are a few less volunteers this year and they are expecting more kids so if it's a for sure then get your name on the list.

I'll be helping also as my Wife will be fishing with the little guys.

That's the first thing I thought. It was obvious someone unfamilliar to the internet who set all that up. Email address tooooo long and yes suggestive. Not sure who you mean but there are many possibilities
Your right though it should have been scgf@bellnet.ca or scgameandfish@bellnet.ca
Their site is still stalled (not the admins) but maybe the email can be changed before it goes up. Thanks Johnny

Hi everyone, I just joined the StC G&FA today. Looking forward to the Kids day for my son. I'll be at the next meeting, hope to meet some of you there in hopes that I can become a better angler. I'm sure there's alot of info to be passed on. I'm really interested in the art of tying flies, although I have never fly-fished.
See you soon,

For all those who are not a member yet. What would it take for you to join? If there is one thing you would change to make it worth it what would it be? Keep in mind that a club has to have volunteers to run so without some help from you, conservation clubs and the work they do for the fisheries will dissapear so please give them some consideration.
Here's my input. I'd like to see the SCGF get involved in enhancing the entire 12 mile creek watershed. I'd like to see fish stocked, invasives thined out, accessability improved, Brush and rubish cleaned up, docks put in and I'd love to build a hatchery and work along side the MNR to monitor and track fish.
That's it for me. There is a meeting Monday April 25th at 7:30 pm. If you'de like to have your say, go and say it.

I really like the Hatchery idea,
i'd do that and I would volunteer for some clean up projects and want not.
How does one go about getting involved with a club like SCGF??
Is there yearly dues??

All the info you need is on the website.
http://scgameandfish.org There are several clubs like them dying to get new blood. For the most part they are full of a bunch of older men who do all the work and are ready to let the young guys take over. The reason nothing is getting done anymore is because there are no volunteers because most members are too old to do it anymore. So if you have some good ideas or ambition to help your environment, join a club soon and recruit some friends. Learn how things work and start the changes/ community service next year.
