  1. That meeting was a waste of time. The reps for the city we not prepared for the response they were greeted with. And couldn't answer many of the questions/concerns. A few people raised valid points and seemed like serval others were there for their own personal benefit
  2. Saw a guy scream at another guy and young man today because they got too close too his spot. Some fish left in there but it seems like it's slow. Lots of sunfish bites between trout bites!!
  3. We shot a 3 man limit of rabbits in NOTL today. 3 different properties produced! We saw a bunch we didn't get shooting at and after my brother shot #18 I had one run by me at 6ft that I just had to laugh and watch go. An amazing family day out in the field with my father and brother!
  4. It isn't "wounded" if ya find it dead! ? Thanks for sharing your story. I'm waiting till the 21st when the NY season opens. We can finally use rifles in the county I hunt starting this season so it's gonna be interesting!!
  5. Call the Parks police. Jason seaward (I know I spelled that last name wrong but that's how you pronounce it) is in charge of that stuff. He will be able to help you out.
  6. Those boats were a PITA back in late November early December while duck hunting the lower. They would buzz the Canadian shore line just outside the decoys basically and throw a 3ft wave into the shoreline at us
  7. Oh sorry guys i forgot to post. We only managed 11. We've only made it out the one evening so far. The grapes we hunt have grown up making it even tougher than last year. Plus I've been on call for work so I haven't even thought about hunting
  8. I got a 6 man crew chasing doves tomorrow after work. I'll let ya know how we make out!
  9. I've been shooting Winchester Super X xpert high velocity steel shot 12ga 2 3/4 1oz of #7's at 1325 fps. If you do your part the stuff works real well! They also have it in 20 ga 2 3/4 3/4oz #7's at 1325 fps. Was buying both 12 and 20 for $65.94 a flat (10 boxes). They also make it in 28ga but it's $125 a flat
  10. Thanks for the offer bud ? but I don't think it'll work. That vacuum idea is different but if I could find bags that big I'd be all set! I don't think it matters, I'm going to buy a turkey fryer and serve em up on the long weekend!!
  11. Ok guys (and gals) I've got a question. Once ya have your prize bird at home, how do you go about preparing it for the freezer??? I've shot my share of birds and it seems each one is a new experience trying to get it ready to chill out. Besides eating it right away how is everyone else storing their turkey till thanksgiving, Christmas etc? This years bird wouldn't fit into an XL freezer bag, so I put it in 4 (breast to tail, tail to breast etc) then folded the bags over and duct taped em, then a layer of white plastic (industrial green house weight) wrapped it like a Christmas present and duct taped all the seams. I'm thinking there has got to be an easier way!!! Especially when it's a mature bird! What's everyone else's method to preserving dinner until its time to cook??
