This year we have moved the event to an earlier date in hopes to give us some great weather to go along with the great fishing the Upper Niagara and Lake Erie has to offer. Here are the particulars for this years event. DATE: Saturday September 17, 2011 TIME: 7:00AM TO 3:00PM LOCATION: Greater Niagara Boat Club Chippawa Ontario Canada (Upper Niagara & LAKE ERIE) COST: $100 PER 2 MAN TEAM (50% of all entries go to Help a Child Smile Foundation) BOAT & LIVEWELL CHECK 5:45AM TO 6:30AM. MEETING AT THE STAGE AT 6:40AM Boat checks and check-in will be done at the boat club, either before or immediately after launching your boat. ALL PARTICIPANTS, WILL HAVE BOATS AND LIVEWELLS CHECKED. NO EXCEPTIONS! 1ST PLACE: $ 2,000.00 2ND PLACE: $ 1,000.00 3RD PLACE: $ 500.00 4TH PLACE: $ 400.00 5TH PLACE: $ 300.00 6TH Place $250.00 7TH Place $200.00 8TH Place $150.00 9TH Place $100.00 10TH Place $100.00 Prize structure is a guaranteed payout based on 100 boats -50% Payout ***LUNKER POOL: 100% PAYOUT TOP 3 BASS ON 40/40/20 BASIS*** New this year, Prize for Big Smallmouth, Big Largemouth and second biggest fish! It's a fun event for a great cause. Last year we were able to donate $2500.00 to the charity and hope to increase that this year. Prizes are donated from local businesses both small and large as well as sponsors from the fishing industry. All competing teams go home with cash or prizes. Following the event there will be a BBQ and beverages available for the competing anglers and spectators. Fishing will be awesome with fall patterns starting to turn on. Even if you can’t fish its a great event to just stop by and support and watch the weigh-in. At registration the morning of the event 1 member from each team will be given a copy of the rules. No live bait, no trolling, no fishing restricted waters, no passing in the creek speed zone during blast-off or disqualification will result. Two anglers per boat 5 fish limit, minimum length 13” Smallmouth or largemouth only Life jackets must be worn when combustion engine is running Late penalty 1lbs. Per minute. After 5 mins disqualified. Dead fish penalty .5lbs. Short fish penalty loss of that fish subtract 1 lbs from total weight Lunker bass must be alive to collect lunker prize. A team cannot win more than one lunker prize. Ties for all places will be broken by that teams largest fish. If still tied there will be a 1 hour fish-off. (first place only) all other places will be combined and distributed evenly. Any tie for lunker will be broken by that team’s total weight. At no time will another team’s boat be within 50 yards of another competitor’s boat except during the idle out to the river and back to the boat club. As this event grows each year there is no telling how big it will be this year. Sponsors prizes have been coming in steady and we have a number of high end items this year already. Yes Denis there will be boat checks at the public ramp and at the boat club. For competing anglers, entry is $100, big fish pool is $20(optional) Both competitors and spectators bring some extra cash for the draws and possible Auction following the event. With 34 boats competing in this years tournament, it should prove to be an excellent show at the weigh in!! The weather is supposed to co-operate with us today *fingers crossed. Everyone is welcome to come watch the weigh-in on stage. There are raffle prizes and 50/50 tickets being sold, not to mention the amazing Greater Niagara Boat Club food and beverages!! Hope to see you all there!! C'mon out and show your support for a great cause!! Every little bit helps!!
