It's a fun event for a great cause. Last year we were able to donate $2500.00 to the charity and hope to increase that this year. Prizes are donated from local businesses both small and large as well as sponsors from the fishing industry. All competing teams go home with cash or prizes. Following the event there will be a BBQ and beverages available for the competing anglers and spectators.

Entry form is available at our website at www.niagarabassmasters.com or email myself (Pete) at championproteam@yahoo.ca and I will email you a copy.

Once again this is a fun event and any/all teams are welcome. (B.A.S.S. membership is not required)

Hope to see you there.

Remember that this is for a great cause and the money raised stays locally.

Thanks,

Pete Elphinstone

As requested here are the rules. At registration the morning of the event 1 member from each team will be given a copy of the rules.

No live bait, no trolling, no fishing restricted waters, no passing in the creek speed zone during blast-off or disqualification will result.

Two anglers per boat

5 fish limit, minimum length 13” Smallmouth or largemouth only

Life jackets must be worn when combustion engine is running

Late penalty 1lbs. Per minute. After 5 mins disqualified. Dead fish penalty .5lbs. Short fish penalty loss of that fish subtract 1 lbs from total weight

Lunker bass must be alive to collect lunker prize.

A team cannot win more than one lunker prize.

Ties for all places will be broken by that teams largest fish. If still tied there will be a 1 hour fish-off. (first place only) all other places will be combined and distributed evenly.

Any tie for lunker will be broken by that team’s total weight.

At no time will another team’s boat be within 50 yards of another competitor’s boat except during the idle out to the river and back to the boat club.

Only one line per angler is permitted at any one time.

All participants must check in at the end of the tournament.

We are a week away and teams numbers are already looking better then last year. As this event grows each year there is no telling how big it will be this year.

Sponsors prizes have been coming in steady and we have a number of high end items this year already.

The sponsors list will go up later today.

Don't miss this event!!

Weather looks great for Saturday. Lets get together and show how the angling community can make a difference. Help a Child Smile is a great charity. We “CAN” make a difference in a childs life. Even if you can’t fish, come out and show support, watch the weigh-in and grab a burger.

Well the weather was a bit on the chilly side this morning,:coldsmiley: however everyone was bundled up and ready to blast off. With 34 boats competing in this years tournament, it should prove to be an excellent show at the weigh in!! :clapping: The weather is supposed to co-operate with us today *fingers crossed. Everyone is welcome to come watch the weigh-in on stage. There are raffle prizes and 50/50 tickets being sold, not to mention the amazing Greater Niagara Boat Club food and beverages!!

Hope to see you all there!! C'mon out and show your support for a great cause!! Every little bit helps!! Weigh in starts at 3pm

Toodles
