The wind was a real pain in my butt though, so after about 45 minutes of fly fishing I busted out the good ol' spinning rod. And here he is again with my rod and reel:) It was a lot of fun seeing this little bass take out the grasshopper on the surface I can not wait for more action on the fly! sooner Posted April 22, 2012 Report Share Posted April 22, 2012 I surprisingly hooked into my first smallmouth on a fly this month. The fish weighed 5lbs and I have not touched my spin cast rod since. Since it was out of season I did release the fish unharmed (much like when they are outta season). I also hooked into a 5-7 lb pickeral which was also released. I think this is going to be a really good season for flies. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
