blue pilgrim
On the north shore there is a big old white church. Fish the weeds out in front of that, around 100 feet out. Had good luck with live target perch. Good luck.
larry b
Try for smallmouth by the sunken tracks, lots of action if the walleye aren't cooperative

coyotehunter
A lot depends on where in Rice Lake you are fishing ....Gore's Landing........Harwood (sunken railroad....Roseneath (Robin's Landing. Usually anywhere there is 10-12 feet of water around the islands is good on the edges of weedbeds. Trolling with stickbaits or worm harnesses is effective. A good map wil show you the various shoals. Be especially carefull around the sunken railrad at Harwood (Tick Island area). There are only a couple of safe passages through there. Elsewhere the water shallows to the surface along the rairoad bed. Grasshopper and Margaret Islands to the east have produced some excellent walleye fishing. Keep in mind there is a 4 fish limit and a slot size. You can only keep walleye between 13.7"and 19.7". Sure hurts to put those five pounders back. Good luck.
