NormyG1
I've been to the French river provincial park a few times - last year on a 5 day solo kayak/fishing trip. I am thinking of doing a trip to the Massassauga park this year. Anyone been?...what is the fishing like, sites, boaters etc...any info would be great. thanks
Habtrout
Normy I have been in Massassauga a couple of times specifically Spider Lake. It is a beautiful lake, large but a lot of bays and arms so it is nice for canoes and kayaks as the waves never get too big. I was on a few sites and the quality varies. Some on beaches with heavy forest, others on large rocky points. Pretty good in general. Fishing is very good with a variety of fish. Bass are plentiful reaching good sizes, caught a nice lake trout (6 lbs) from shore on July 1 weekend and lots of pike from hammer handles up to one of the biggest fish of my life (over 40"). I was canoeing but I think it would work really well for a kayaking trip. Hope that helps
