Jmo1685
I've had success cat fishing into the winter for channel cats on the Welland river into January before. Me and a friend used frozen shrimp and caught 6 or so in a few hours. It wasn't ice fishing the time we did it, the water was open.

Surf and Turf
I've never targeted them before but have been have heard that the spring run on the Grand is a blast. I've only caught two the first 30 years ago drifting a roe sac at Port Dalhousie and the second two years ago trolling for Walleye on Erie, must have been 10 lbs and hit a worm harness. smerchly
I have never tried it , but chumming the ice holes for cats may help bring them in. ....something smelly like cut up sardines.... or toe jam, etc.....
Frank81
I love fishing for catfish in the spring, but have never targeted them in the winter through the ice, but apparently you can have success.
