Valens Lake Ice Fishing Derby will be held on February 14, on Valentines day. The gates open at sunrise and vehicle entry is $10.00 per car. You may either park at the workshop or the beach parking lot. Derby registration will be at the gatehouse. Prizes will be given out at the workshop at the end of the derby, there will also be door prizes so even if you didn't catch a fish you may still win something. Because this is being held on Valentines Day this year we will be selling tickets on the ice for a special prize to bring home to your wife, girlfriend, mother or who ever. The special Valentines Day prize is a pair of tickets to any event at First Ontario Center (formerly known as Copps Colosseum) to a maximum value of $150.00, so don't run out and buy some cheap tickets with this, hold onto to them for a good event. Along with this will be a gift card for a dinner for two to a nice restaurant and a bouquet of roses. That should make someone very happy when you bring that home! Also we have a large assortment of prizes; tackle, heaters, a flasher, sleds etc. If you have any questions call the park at 905-525-2183. See you on the ice!
