DaveC
I have got to get started tying smaller wet/dry flies for single hand fly fishing. I joined a group of competetive guys doing events from both river, bank, and boat. Looking forward to an interesting year starting in the spring... im green with a single hand, but ive got some good teachers thats going to help. Just need to learn tying small nymphs and stuff on those hooks i can barely see...lol.
ron4blues
Some Mustad 3906 and 3906B hooks will do for your nymphs. Start basic with hare's ear and PT nymphs and some micro buggers.
ron4blues
As for me, I have a supply of braided mylar tubing that I'be been playing with. Once I get a few things worked out I'll post a few of the results.
DaveC
What i find that works great for tube flies is Qtips. Huge box of them for $1.00 they are plastic now and hollow cut melt tips and tye...
ron4blues
Haven't really gotten into tube flies although I have done a few. The mylar I have is for bodies. The mesh makes a nice flashy scale effect.
Finsanity
Can also use fish tank thin clear oxygen hose 15 feet for 3 bucks and it's clear and super durable and holds the hook when not in a fish and loose enohgh to release the fly when a fish hits it. Sal Fontinalis
Hey guys, new to this forum & only been tying for a few years. Haven't tied any tubes or much above #8 hook. I've been using Turkey biot lately to enhance segmentation on soft hackles. Hope these look okay.

ron4blues
Yes! Turkey bits make great bodies. I use them on nymphs and dries too.
