Greetings everyone! August is here, and with that are a number of events & activities coming up in the coming weeks.

Our Summer Salmon Derby is on and we are seeing some nice fish being entered.
Remember it runs until 5pm Sat Sept 15

On Tues Aug 14 there will be a Kids Day planning meeting  7pm @ the clubhouse. Once again the Free Port Dalhousie Kids Fishing Day in Port Dalhousie is set for Sat Sept 15. All those wishing to get involved & volunteer that day are invited to attend this meeting.

Sat Aug 18 in the afternoon we are having our annual members BBQ at the ramp/clubhouse. Details for this are still being finalized, stay tuned!

Sat Aug 25  The Strait Line Anglers Club is running the “CATCH THE FRY” Salmon Tournament out of Port Dalhousie at the St Catharines Game and Fish Association launch ramp.  This event is open to everyone to enter. This event celebrates the efforts of the Pen Stocking Project & the return of the mature spawning salmon.

$40 per person- Will pay cash 50% 1st place, 30% to 2nd and 20% to 3rd
Optional $20 big fish pot per boat : 1st place 50% to the winner and 50% donation to the Pen project.
6 rod max
3 fish box - 30" minimum size
Registration is from 515 to 615 at the Dalhousie ramp.
Blast off 630 outside the piers
All coolers must be in line at the scale by 230 or you will be disqualified.
Please manage your time accordingly. No speeding in the harbor or using the yacht clubs docks.

On Sat Sept 8 we are planning a joint Lake Erie Walleye event  in Port Colborne with our friends at the Strait Line Anglers Club. Details for that can be found here:  https://scgfa.ca/event/lake-erie-walleye-outing/

Finally we have a new date & venue for our Salmon Derbies Awards Night. It will be Sunday Sept 30 at the Rib Crib Restaurant in the “Off Track room”. More details on this to come!
