O. Reg. 664/98: FISH LICENSING

14.1 (1) A resident who is an active member of the armed forces of Canada and who has been issued a Canadian Forces Identification Card (NDI 20) by the Department of National Defence (Canada) may engage in sport fishing if he or she carries the card on his or her person while fishing. O. Reg. 512/18, s. 2.
(2) A resident who is a veteran of the armed forces of Canada and who has been issued a Record of Service Card (NDI 75) or a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran’s Service Card (NDI 75) by the Department of National Defence (Canada) may engage in sport fishing if he or she carries the card on his or her person while fishing. O. Reg. 512/18, s. 2.

(3) Any document a resident is required to carry on their person while sport fishing under subsection (1) or (2) is deemed to be a sport fishing licence for the purposes of this Regulation. O. Reg. 512/18, s. 2.

Does who have served in Canada's Armed Forces but were not issued an NDI 75 on release can apply for one here; however, if you were released prior to February 2016 you have to wait until this summer before you can apply.
