w1w Posted September 10, 2019 Report Share Posted September 10, 2019 ...great day for an event on Sunday. Wind...N-NW with gusts up to around 15kms (?) at times...sunny with cloudy periods. Our first tournament had 4 boats and there were 4 of the original guys fishing on Sunday (one original team). Sixteen boats competed. A lot of guys seemed to lose fish, including us. Our day started at Sherkston with no success (lost one fish)...stopped at Point Abino (lost one fish). Then we headed toward the Windmill Point area and found some decent fish but not a lot of bites. There were a lot of boats around us but by the time we left at 1:50pm, the other boats were gone except for one. Most fish were taken on dropshot but a tube, possibly, produced our biggest fish...'freight train'...jumped and spit. Bertie Boating Club is a wonderful facility to host our tournament. Thanx to Molson for sponsoring, again. Everyone walked away with at least a $20-25 prize...1st-$250...2nd-$200...3rd-$150...Big Bass-$25.
