Today in our paper they had a scumbag who stole a woman's phone then tried to sell it back to her. He was caught and was also carrying an air pistol, cocaine and meth. The drug charges were withdrawn, he was already under a firearms prohibition order from a 2017 offense so this was extended another few years (which he obviously ignores anyways) and he was sentenced to time served. Things will never get better as long as our courts and judges have this lenient attitude.

Exactly !  The lenient "punishments" are the biggest cause of repeated crimes .....and that greases the wheels of our courts,  judges ,  lawyers  , prosecutors etc. Why drop the drug charges  ???    What's the answer for many of us ???      ⬇️

Years ago someone stole a wallet and car keys from a buddy's gym bag ... in the end he got his ID back and was able to put a hold on his credit cards, so all he suffered was inconveniences.  Car keys were left in the car after nothing of value was found.  Eventually the cops showed up and someone tossed the question out on "What if we walked into the locker room and caught him in the act" ... the answer was simple ... "it all depends on who is responding, but in my book, whatever you boys decided to do, I might have to stop and get a coffee if you guys caught him, you would do more to him than we are even allowed to think about".  I think that sums up the lack of teeth that exist as a whole, and of course if it was a different cop answering that question the answer would be "you hit him you are being charged with assault".

This will be an interesting case to monitor and see how it does going through the courts from a "protecting your home perspective".

Gotta love Canada. A country where the legal system is corrupt and the lawyers keep getting richer and richer.

Our 6 year old great grandson had his coat stolen at school a few days ago , then another kid was spotted wearing it !  .  His father got him a new coat  at the Salvation Army Store & let the little thief keep the coat .

Maybe this is where it all starts ......   too many parents into booze & drugs to have time for their kids ......
