smerchly Posted May 30, 2020 Report Share Posted May 30, 2020 I no electrician but looking at the burnt connection I think moisture eroded the connection until only a tiny contact remained which can get red hot and can burn out other components . A friend burnt up his truck , had a bad connection under the dash . Boats have many more toys these days , more electronics and wires to check . Good luck ...hope your on the water soon .
