  1. Not much flowing in the upper west of the train bridge. Down river was a little more ice but manageable. We were out Friday. Netherby launch was not accessible because of ice. The Frenchmans Creek launch was usable but still had ice. The launch by Nicholl's Marine was usable but my trailer bottomed out as soon as my trailer wheels left the concrete. Others did not seem to have any issues. Not sure why my 17 foot boat trailer had issues.
  2. Thanks for the help. We ended up going in by Nicholl's Marine around 9:30 and stayed on the water till 1:00. We saw a few trout and pickeral caught but did not get one ourselves. Will try lower next. Again, thanks for the help.
  3. We are putting the boat in the water somewhere tomorrow in hopes of landing a few trout. big decision is upper or lower river. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. We did well last Friday in 61 FOW in front of Point Abino. Started biting at 9:45 a.m. and ended at abouyt 12:00 at least where we were.
  5. Lower or Welland river.
  6. Does anyone know if Dominion Bait in Ridgeway has minnows? cheers and good luck to all
  7. Should you be able to mark the walleye down that deep on your depth finder.
  8. Thanks for all the great help. I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching. Love those pickerel. Again thanks for all the info and best of luck out on the water.
  9. Out from Port Colborne. About an 8 mile ride. Slightly to the west.
  10. We are using 4 dipseys. Two number ones and two Magnums. The two #1s are straight out the back of the boat about 150 feet to get them down (according to the chart 70 feet for a 0 setting). The two magnums are out the side on planer boards set to go down to 70 feet. We are trolling at 1.5 to 1.8 mph according to my GPS. We have tried worm harnesses and Renosky lures tipped with worms. Sunday I had the same trolling patterns as most of the other boats out at the weather buoy. We only saw two fish boated while we were out there, but that does not mean much. We were at the buoy by around 7
  11. Did anyone have any luck catching pickerel out at the weather buoy on Sunday or are we just doing something wrong? 5 hours, no fish.
  12. Hello I have been out to the weather buoy off Port Colborne twice in the last week and been skunked both times. I think my issue may be that I am using 4, #1 dipseys. Two set to "0" out the back and one out each side set to "3.5". I have been using worm harnesses of multiple colours. My question is "am I wasting my time in 80 FOW with # 1 dipseys that according to the chart will go down 70 feet at the "0" setting and '50 feet at the "3" setting". I have heard you can let more line out on the dipseys and they will go down further than the chart says, but are you succeptible to tangles
  13. Thanks. Looks like a great day coming up.
