  1. I always thought they would be feeding on the smelt in like the 80-100fow...... You just opened my eyes to something, I've never used traditional walleye techniques on this lake, that might be my problem.
  2. I know there is lots of walleyes in this lake, big ones too but I can't seem to catch any! Anyone have any experience on this lake?
  3. kinda looks like a yellowish mooneye. curious if they are from the same family.
  4. Do people eat those things?
  5. sea run salmon and trout
  6. Buckshot, I used to take kids fishing for the children's aid society. I'm sure they could find something to do with that stuff as volunteers are always looking for things to do with the kids. Where are you located? I can call the one nearest to you to see if they take donations for the children, if you don't mind dropping it off. Also gearup.ca has a donation thing set up for donating fishing gear for the less fortunate. Let me know, I'm sure we can spread some Christmas joy somewhere.
  7. I have a bait caster brand new I can donate but where is all this stuff going?
  8. That's a hog. I wish Canada did more things like that.
  9. I think the main reason for extinction is their roe is just as valuable as black sturgeon roe. I have heard of sightings this is why I was asking. Last one I caught was in Louisiana, just curious as to if they are still in our great lakes. Thought someone might have seen them in the Niagara system. I guess they are a goner for good. Seeing one of those things feed is really cool. They just swim with their mouths open wide.
  10. Has anyone seen any of these or is it safe to say they are close to extinct around here?
  11. Do they take you out as well? I have a house near Virginia beach and could rent out it for 1200 for a week. Also have a hut I can put on top of fish for you too. 9 bedroom + den. Luxury waterfront. If your interested let me know weeks are filling up quick and there isn't even ice yet!
  12. Other kawartha's don't allow ice fishing eyes......only the gog Being so shallow those fish are venerable Hey cplummer, I thought ice fishing walleye only opened like 5 years ago on scugog..........
  13. I put my time into rivers that actually matter like cobourg brook and FYI I have volunteered for the CRAA hence why I think its all BS. They have worked tirelessly I'm not denying that, it can't be fixed. 1) I'm not threatening anything it was a joke. 2) Do you have any sort of research to back up that restoring that river will actually do anything but waste time? 3) There are so many other rivers in the GTA that would benefit more so than the credit from hard work. 4) Why does all the time go into the Credit? 5) If so much work has been done why is there so much garbage and crap down there still? 6) The CRAA's restoration plan will be drifting down the river in 20 years after everyone hard work has been put in. 7) Rivers always change, historically. They are restoring something that should be left alone to change and evolve naturally. I speak from experience and education not a fan boy like all the rest of you. I've seen this in the states before. Like I said 20 years from now it will be in shambles, just like it is now! Mark my words. And FYI I don't care about the credit's fishery because if they were doing it properly it wouldn't need help.
  14. They are in the same position they were in 10 years ago, in 20 years there will be in the same situation. I have read it, it sounds great! But that place is going to be a metropolis very soon and it will not last. Mark my words.
  15. I have 5 guns but its the stupid dam that's preventing up stream migration. The fish can't get to suitable spawning grounds because of those stupid things. Then you have these goofs from CRAA asking for donations? For what? What they should be doing is working with the MNR to fix the river not asking poor saps from the community for money.
  16. some one should just show up with a 12 gauge and plug away at the dam that will fix the problem.
  17. Clearly your not fishing the same spots I am, go tomorrow and see for your self....... I've been on the bowmanville creek the last 5 days and hammered them every day...... I live 10 mins drive from the creek...... In fact I'm going in 2 hours because it's so good...... : ) BTW your post was from 2 weeks ago, things do change......
  18. Oh yeah, that area is full of them! We loose lots of hooks out here and you get the odd guy claiming a huge fish cut him off when we all know it was a zebra muscle while jigging.
  19. Lots in bowmanville, got a nice fresh one this weekend on Oshawa pier.
  20. if you go wosley, fish the 5 finger rapids.... More walleye's than you can handle.....
  21. If anyone wants a partner I'm out by oshawa/port perry side for the summer (I live in thunder bay) I will drive down to anywhere in Erie to get on some of these massive walleyes y'all got out there. I'll chip in for gas and such and meet at any port. Let me know! I do work as a specialist in oncology so weekends would be best and I didn't bring my boat down from Thunder bay so that's not a option for me unfortunately.
  22. try by river mouth, on the left there is a 20ft drop area going into the river. hole about 30 ft in river....... use minnows...... if you find the waterfall on the lake you'll be good.....I'm not telling you were tho ; )
