  1. Regal. renzetti. peak. I just got a new Renzetti and have my older one available. They are full rotary. If you want to try out my older Renzetti let me know. I live in Hamilton.
  2. Make sure you net head first. The rest will follow.
  3. Really good bass lake and some musky too.
  4. They are reliable and were used by some of the charter captains back in the day on Lake O.
  5. That sucks - happened to me once. You can’t replace the memories attached to your equipment. I lost a favorite lure that had teeth marks from a pike I caught on a fishing trip with my Grandpa. If you need to borrow some equipment while you sort out insurance let me know- I would be happy to help.

    Unique 2

I think the one on the left was used for lake trout trolling in the past kind of like a flasher ahead of a spoon on wire line to get deep. I remember seeing something like that in my Great Grandfather’s tackle when I was a kid (I am 56 now).
  7. I was fishing at Hamilton Harbour this morning and found a carp landing net when I arrived. the area is reasonably highly traveled and I was the only person there for the two hours I fished. if you or a friend lost a net pm me and I will get it back to it’s rightful owner.
  8. If you post a photo of the fly you may get more suggestions- there are several good tyers on this board
  9. I do a lot of carp fishing on the fly outfit. 8 wt is good but I would make sure you get a good reel that can hold lots of backing and has a nice drag. These fish can take off and peel line in a hurry. pm me if you want to get some pointers and samples of flies - I think we need a little more time to let the water to warm up in Hamilton to get the fish turned on but it is awesome action once conditions are right.
  10. Foam block and straps ok as long as nose of kayak is tied securely to front bumper.
  11. A friend of mine was going this morning and he usually does well on flies
  12. They still haven't finished spawning in the Hamilton Harbour and usually the action gets hot right after.
  13. Will be trying Hamilton Monday after work and will let you know
  14. I have had good luck with spring pike in locations that have feeder streams - theses streams deliver baitfish (shiners, chubs, sucker) to the larger water bodies when heavy rains come and the pike are there to feed.
  15. Absolutely yes people use a fly rod and with some good results. I find the carp less cooperative with cold water but late May to mid July are very eager to take the flies.
  16. We are trying to hire in Brantford and can't get people.
  17. Small flies work - they get caught by accident when fly fishing for other species
  18. Sad the lack of enforcement in that area - I was there a lot when I was a kid and it has always been a circus
  19. Thanks some good stuff here Dave C I would take the contact information of your recommended guys for some pointers - will wail till this settles down but always good to get some expert guidance
  20. Thanks for all the input. i am sure rest will help too put the fishing has been really good this summer. Will try the band and ointment before accepting physio approach.
