This assures you that nobody else will register with the username that you are acustomed to using in the past. It only takes a minute to register and it's instant, allowing you to post right away without having to wait for the admin to approve you, and if you check where it says 'remember me' in the registration area then your computer will remember your info and automatically log you in so you don't have to do it every time you come to the forums.
