scapulataf
Try one of these: http://www.hobiecat.com/fishing/boats/pro-angler/ Saw a guy way out in lake Ontario with one of these, off 16 mile in Oakville. I looked out and saw him way out there. What the hell was it? No sail, too small and low to the water for a motorboat, but moving too fast for a canoe or kayak, not to mention I couldn't see a paddle going up and down. A little while later, I saw him coming in to the harbour. He was pedaling at a leisurely pace, but going pretty damn fast. Advantages: no paddling necessary, reasonably fast, keeps your hands free for fishing, available with a built in trolling motor Disadvantages: the mirage drive sticks down through the bottom of the hull so you can't get in to water as shallow as other kayaks Cost, they aren't cheap, and from the half hearted looks on kijiji I've done, there aren't too many on the used market.
