Keep an eye on Lakeontariounited.com in the classified section. Lots of good boats, at correct prices. Keep looking around and you'll get a better idea of what 8500 buys. I was in the same situation a few years back. Wanted the larger offshore capabilities, but with lightweight trailering. I settled on a 22ft StarCraft Islander...........under 5K all in. Other good, large, aluminum hulls include the 19ft Sea Nymph, 22ft sylvan, and the 22ft Crestliner. Some say Erie is no place for aluminum, but I use mine all the time, and she handles it well.
