kevin
On Saturday, while out in my boat, I heard a blood curdling scream on the upper Niagara river. I looked to see a young guy drifting downriver towards the peace bridge. He grabbed the side of the pier and was in quite a bad spot. He was trying to swim up river and it was making his situation worse. After instructing him to let go and come around the back side of the pier, he eventually got out safely. Every year, the first internet or instagram report of a trout or two sends newcomers to water they aren't familiar with. Water levels are up, be careful. staffman
Same fishing the pool. Yes it is full of fish now, but the water level can change quickly and catch those that aren't paying attention.

Bow Man
What the hell was he doing in the water? Was he wading or did he fall in? Good for you though, and hope he is ok.
smerchly
Are there warning signs at the pathways to the river ? Many people are visitors and don't know how treacherous this river is .....slippery rocks , changing water levels and super fast currents ! Some anglers take too many chances also . A few signs warning people of these dangers would help to "some" degree .....
deetch
Smerchly, I agree signs help but a bit of common sense should tell you to stay away. The problem now a days is that we need to spoon feed everyone, common sense is non existent, and that is very dangerous!
