cplummer
Chewed my prop on some rocks. It is a 25 merc 2 stroke. The motor runs great but now the prop dont move. Any ideas? Cliff
Chrisb
If the prop has a rubber hub it is spun and needs to be repaired. If the motor is older it might just be a sheer pin.

cplummer
I have called every mechanic (marine) and not 2 of them answer nor return calls.. I only had my boat out for 30 min since i owned it
fishingking
I'd say shear pin also .I had a82 evinrude I hit rocks with and it snapped.quick an inexpensive.hopefully it's that
DaveC
Not sure they have a shear pin....I think the prop tears the hub and spins. One way to find out Cliff, put it in gear...not running of course and try to turn the prop. If it moves on the hub then needs new hub.

cplummer
Ended up with horrible news.. I need the whole lower gear case unit. They tell me they dont make them no more for a 2001...they tried to sell me a motor. Lol. I will search the web for the unit. Bass pro said if i find a good used one i am looking at 2g. 100 hours total on boat and motor. I put in 20 min before a rock grabed my prop

mooseslayer
I have used this guy for a couple prop repairs and he did a great job...and bought a new prop from him. I did see a bunch of parts around the place so it might be worth a try.
