You guys need to take a deep breath and relax. For one thing Ang Viola has more experience "fishing where most of us fish" than any of us do, the guy's been basically living on the water 300 days a year for 50+ years. If you haven't seen him on the water or at the boat ramp, then it's probably because YOU don't get out much. I see And on Quinte or in the Kawarthas at least 4 - 5 times every year. The only guy I see out there more is Izumi.

 

Ang is absolutely right - trout opener and walleye opener are always a complete circus. There's always a bunch of idiots who can't control themselves, so why should this year be any different? Go out and push the envelope, have fun but it won't be long before the cops come and the barricades go up. They don't have any tolerance for boneheads right now.

 

And before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, this thread is exactly the kind of whining Ang talks about in his blog post. Do you guys even listen to yourselves? This is not about personal liberty, it's about people dying from an infectious disease with no cure or vaccination yet. If you think you going out to catch some fish is somehow more important than someone's else's life, then you really need to give your head a shake. This isn't a joke. You don't have to be sick to carry the bug or pass it on to someone else.
