knightfisher 243
A first for me. Used a few different lures and had one hit. Decided to use my #5 Vibrax which doesn't get much use. First cast fish on, a sheephead of all things. Well at least I know I won't have the white stripe today. Second cast same area, pike on, nice size as well. A few more casts and nothing. Moved around using different lures, after a half hour, back to the earlier spot, and yep, put the Vibrax back on. Few casts later another pike. Nice I thought. Few more casts yet another pike. Feeling pretty good, that's for sure. Decided to change areas, and keep the vibrax on. One more fish to finish the day, an bass. All fish caught on the Vibrax, a first for me. T'was a good day on the water. мормышка, Tony, Fish Farmer and 2 others

smerchly 2,742
Nice combo of fish there Dan ! I believe the Vibrax type lures with the spinning blades really attract fish . Years ago we used Mepps with buck tail and worm for big walleye at Sand Banks .....just drifting and casting . I was doing the Dalhousie Tour today and some carping ....one 4 one.... Darryl L 59
We went to lake nippising this summer. We almost exclusively used vibrax spinners (gold, silver, red) and absolutely cleaned up on the pike. Amazing lures, the pike just eat them up! knightfisher and smerchly

I use to use them a lot in the past with pretty good success. For some reason got away from them, with all the other tackle available. Will definitely be using them more. Other large spinner baits with buck tails cost over $20 with tax . I know a guy who could make copies at 1/4 that cost .... ( no tax)

While walleye fishing at nichols marina in May I met a guy who makes custom swim baits and jig heads for cheap. Bought about $20 worth and they were as good as the store bought ones. Caught some huge walleye with them too.
