Tony
So is it still o.k. to go out and do some fishing???? If you're allowed to go for a walk outside to get some fresh air, I don't see why not.......If we practice social distancing while out fishing (and perhaps wear a mask), I think that perhaps we will be o.k........Just my thoughts....... Darryl L
Niagara Police just went on record saying they will NOT be stopping people arbitrarily to ask them where they are from , or what they are doing. Now if they receive a "complaint" they will be obligated to investigate and see it through. knightfisher and Tony
Old Outdoorsman
Cops maybe won't stop you arbitrarily, but may set up road blocks to check vehicles. Anyway - to answer the original question - yes, you can still go fishing - per the Ontario Government Parks website. They will be shutting down boat ramps though. It isn't about a virus - it never was. It's about control. Splakin, smerchly, Bob Jr. and 2 others

Just letting them all in and relocating them all over. mooseslayer
Just checked the OFAH site... The Government of Ontario announced the closure of Crown land camping across the province as part of new measures aimed and curbing the spread of COVID-19. At this time, activities including hunting and fishing remain permitted. Tony

Some things they do make no sense to me .....I went to Walmart on 4th yesterday to get a few necessary food items ....like can corn to feed my carp friends , bananas for good luck fishing , coffee and filters to keep me vertical , etc . I noticed the "goods" section was taped off so I couldn't buy a fishing lure ....... But alas ....drive to N.Falls and buy anything you want at Walmart or Costco as it is designated as a "tourist" area ....??? Welcome one and all......there is no c19 in Niagara.Falls ? Costco is locked down on non-essential, there is no tourism out option. To give you an idea how FU**ED this is ... I can go into a 7-11 and buy worms, lotto tickets, magazines, and gift cards with no issues, and there is never anyone imposing the limit. I can't go into a fishing store at all (curbside only). I can enter a Walmart and they have clothing, toys, gift cards, all locked down as non-essential. I can go visit my chiropractor or masseuse for my back and those appointments can last upwards of an hour in close contact, but I can't go to Chapters and buy a book where I might not come within six feet of anyone except the clerk who would be behind a plastic shield. I am happy we did not impose Amazon to not sell non-essential. Every item that is non-essential, an argument can be made it is essential. Are you employed still? Does your job have a dress code? If yes, clothing is essential if there is a look that needs to be maintained and you need to replace some items that no longer fit. If my coffee maker broke ... I have to curbside that because it is non-essential ... that is BS as I like to look at what I want to buy, I am not one to buy three or four things and return the ones I don't like. fishingking

Just had the same conversation with my mom. Technically she is not allowed to come over and visit the grandkids because she doesn't reside in the same residence. But she is allowed to go to a park with a million people running around and visit them there? The government has screwed things up every step of the way and I agree with you the next big Fuk up will be allowing flights to and from India after being warned about yet another variant taking that country over. Tony
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the LCBO and the Beer store still open???? Snags
Our Supreme Ruler will never allow flights to India or China to be stopped, I would wager that his bank account is growing by the day with kickbacks from both of those countries. I personally would love to see everything opened up, lay the framework for how to operate safety and push expectations out, make things relatively crystal clear (customers per square footage of the customer side). Any business caught not following the rules, shut them down for 30 days and a fine, a second violation, 90 days and a bigger fine, and just grow it. Sure fitting rooms should be closed, but a clothing store can purchase a UV light that has been proven to kill germs for returns. The only area of concern I see would be bars/restaurants. He should take some consolation in knowing that most of the deaths attributed to c19 are elderly people who die every year from other flues and ailments that our elders succumb to ...... We could have done more to stop the spread in some of the LTC "homes" . We should not be making a profit on the sick and elderly ..... Darryl L
Rumor Has It that the government may be backtracking once again and possibly opening up outdoor activities this week. Looks like possibly golfing, camping, and hopefully reopen the boat launches. Fingers crossed. It doesn't seem like they have any idea what they're doing lol.
