Bait caster vs spin reel

They have been used at the pool for trout and kings . Large spinners put out some good turbulence behind that spinner . I like a slower retrieve from piers , and a good swivel is needed to help with line twist. I would have one  in my box.

I haven’t cast spinners from a pier but I use them sometimes fishing rivers.

I actually prefer a spinner over a spoon when casting. I find the vibration angers the fish and causes a reaction strike especially when nothing else can get their attention.

Hey Tyler YouTube Stingeye Spinner and watch a few of the Niagara river salmon and trout videos.

Yep.  It’s the only spinner I throw in the river or the pool.

I just bought some torpedo swivels. 20$ a pack I hope they work lol

Ya they are great. Thats all I have ran for trolling in the lake this year. Pricey,  but I havent lost a fish or lure all season because of them. Also when you go quality you can size down and not worry

Are these the ones you are using ? They look pretty tough to me .... have never used them  .

Quality swivels , quality line , reel with good drag , good net .....  Good fishing !  :Gonefishing:

About shore fishing for salmon, I felt that I wanted to get into it this year and I just have some questions about it. I have outfitted myself with all the proper gear so that is no problem. I am planning on fishing the mouth of Jordan harbour and I am wondering if that is a fishable spot? Also what would be the optimal time of day/conditions to do it. And my main question is, Do I have to be fishing at the mouth of the harbour or can I fish off the rocks of the marina (I know you are not supposed to do that but I do it anyway). Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

The number 4’s are huge. Glad I bought a size smaller also.
