  1. Yea the fishing sucked. Lol for lack of a better term. My buddy got a 3lb smallie but that was about it for notable fishing. I went 11 for 13 all around 1 lb or less. I think it’s time to change up my opener spot
  2. Im in the Kawarthas this weekend with the yak. Can’t wait! Leave tomorrow at noon!
  3. That’s to bad, still sounds like a fun way to fish! I’m gunna check out the membership thing but I’m not sure I have 24hr dedicated to fish. Lol.
  4. How did you end up making out Tyler? Rough conditions I’m sure
  5. Not sure where your located but I’d look into all in one auto on read rd. It’s supposed to be a high performance shop but the mechanic there does everything and he’s reasonable. He will tell you honestly what needs to be done and what can wait. Any tradesmen that says “hey listen if it’s my vehicle I don’t think it needs to be done” is good in my books.
  6. I’d be down for that would be a lot of fun
  7. Crazy to think about. City is getting to big and over run with drug issues
  8. That’s really cool I’ll check it out. I’m going to try for carp from the yak this weekend coming see what happens. As for the carp in the shallows they seemed to be feeding from what I could tell. Rummaging through the weeds kicking up a ton of silt. Fairly big guys too but not together. Hope it helps.
  9. Does anyone know of any kayak tournaments around these parts ? Does anyone meet up and fish with their yaks? I went out jordan harbour again this morning for a few hours, was a bit windy hard to keep in a spot I wanted to fish. Got one little catfish on second drop but the wind was to much blowing me around frustrating to correct all the time. Anyways plan on fishing every Sunday morning 6am to 10am all summer either martindale or Jordan harbour if anyone wants to meet up and fish.
  10. Goodluck @Tyler0420. You ever chase carp from your yak? Had mine out in the harbour this morning and the carp we’re in shallow and just thought If its even worth it. I’m sure it would be a fun ride when they go for those long runs. Anyways how does one get involved with these 24 he tournament type deals? Is there prizes at the end ? Seems like a pretty cool thing.
  11. Hey guys just wondering what finders everyone is using for there yaks even photos of possible setups. I’m thinking it would be ideal but I don’t want to weigh it down to much? How does the batteries hold up etc. any tips help general knowledge would be great. Hitting jordan harbour on Sunday first time in the new yak see how she does can’t wait. Not sure what I’ll get into but I’m hoping for some decent sized kitties. cheers guys.
  12. You should try it! We’re headed into Kawarthas high lands park for bass opener this year. Can’t wait! It’s a whole different experience! Algonquin was packed this weekend I was surprised to see how much gear guys were bringing over a 2.2k portage trail.
  13. That’s exactly what we had, but the reverse. Hot and humid portaging on the way in, cold and rainy on the way out.
  14. Made our yearly trek into welcome lake in Algonquin. Weather was interesting to say the least. 36 degrees In may -.- and they say global warming isn’t a thing. Anyways we did well on the fish, buddies went 7/7 both of them and I went 3/5 on Saturday after a slug fest to get into the lake friday. Thunderstorm hit Sunday morning we got soaked and decided that was enough after the gruelling portages in and took a nice paddle / portage out. All In all a great quick weekend and some good eating fish too.
