  1. Nice going Smerch no skunking! I gave a couple of spots around Hamilton Harbor a try today and spoke to a few other carpers out chasing them too but none of us had any luck. I had polarized glasses on and was seeing fish 2ft below the surface in about 10ft of water just minding their own business cruising. Thinking I'll give either Jordan or Martindale a try Friday, they can't have lockjaw forever Even after being an ex-smoker for many years I could feel my throat getting sore today. Reminded me of being at the pub and breathing in second hand smoke as a kid. Hopefully there is some rain in the future to help the situation. Stay safe, tight lines.
  2. Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a heads up that ticks seem to be especially plentiful this year. While I don't remember it being this bad in the past, recent years have made me more cautious. Yesterday, when I was at Beaverdams Road, I found multiple ticks on my clothes. Earlier this week, I went for a walk by the water at both Jordan Harbor and Charles Daley Park and discovered two ticks on me - one on the back of my neck and one on my ankle. I'm curious to know what others are doing to avoid ticks. Are you just using DEET to keep them away?
  3. I always wondered who took care of those garbage barrels. That man deserves so much respect and appreciation from everyone in the community, that area would be such a mess without him.
  4. I wanted to get out today as well since the weather was nice this morning and tomorrow is going to be another scorcher. I just couldn't drag my bones out the house tho. Glad you got out smerch and got something, fall is fast approaching and theres always plenty of fall fatties to go around if you need your carp fix. I did try eastport drive in Hamilton the other night and there was a few carp cruising but I only had a hour or so and there were a few bumps but no takers. Need to be like a mountain goat tho up and down those rocks when they are biting in that spot.
  5. Had breakfast and watched the water with the wife at the conversation area and saw the brolly setup. Knew there must be someone crushing the carp, Good luck. It's been hit and miss this past week with some days producing a dozen fish and the next only a couple but looks like you have plenty to tempt them.
  6. Cracking Mirror Tyler. Where did you end up on the SSF?
  7. No for that spot I would have expected them to be bigger but no skunking, was left wishing I had my carp tackle with me. Plenty of carp coming out everywhere this weekend.
  8. Awesome, nice to see that spot paying out again for you this year. I was fishing for Cats the week prior in the dark and it was flat calm and you could hear the sploosh of the carp rolling.
  9. Glad to see it's back and working for me too. Thanks Tyler for the perseverance to find a resolution.
  10. Finally tried Port Weller this week, but maybe too early in the year for that spot as I didn't get even a sniff of life but it's also my first time fishing there. I did bring back to the car a few ticks on my backpack and pants. Lets hope this beautiful weather kills off a bunch of them!
  11. Yup that's how I used to do it too. Found the google app allows the command "Ok Google, take a picture" so once your ready say the command it will count down and take the snap, you can set the timer 2, 5 or 10 seconds.
  12. Congrats Smerch that's one hell of a large chunky one. I was over at Jordan last night for a couple of hours and picked 4 ticks off my clothes after walking over to the spot. Then felt my skin crawling as I sat there waiting for a bite and found 3 more on me. They are out in force this year and was just as bad walking back to the car.
