    Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, but being that I am new it seems like I cannot post anywhere. This is the first spot I found. Am I doing something wrong? Can I post on a locked thread?

    You should be able to access the fishing forum, which this is a part of. Locked threads are locked for a reason and you will not be able to post on it.
